Commercial drivers sometimes expect a CVOR Driver Abstract to look like a standard Ontario driver abstract. It does not. The CVOR record is designed around commercial-driver safety performance and includes categories of information that are especially relevant to commercial vehicle operations, including collisions.
Does a CVOR Driver Abstract include collisions?
Yes. Ontario describes the CVOR Driver Abstract as a five-year record of collisions, safety-related offences, convictions and inspections relating to a driver. The record covers information from times when the driver was operating in Ontario. It also shows driver licence status and the driver’s medical due date.

Does every collision appear on a regular 3-year driver abstract?
A regular 3-year driver record is a different product. Ontario describes it as containing driver identification details, demerit-point totals, active fine suspensions and specified convictions, suspensions and reinstatements. The province does not list collision events as a standalone category on the common 3-year record.

Why does the five-year CVOR period matter?
The CVOR Driver Abstract is intended to summarize a longer period of commercial-driver safety information. Someone reviewing the record should therefore avoid assuming that its timeframe or contents match the standard 3-year abstract.
Ontario also offers carrier-level CVOR abstracts. A Level 1 abstract is a one-page summary of a carrier’s record for a two-year period. A Level 2 carrier abstract contains summary data for two years and detailed event data for collisions, convictions and inspections over five years, and is available only to the carrier.
